In PARIS TO BROADWAY, Christine Andreas invites you to two worlds she passionately inhabits, 'The City of Light', PARIS, and 'The Great White Way', BROADWAY. Andreas draws from her smash-hit show PIAF - NO REGRETS, centered around the life of the legendary French chanteuse Edith Piaf, and from Christine’s 40+ years starring on Broadway. The two-time Tony nominee and multiple award-winning singer/actress along with her two-time Grammy-nominated husband, Martin Silvestri, present songs by Piaf, Marguerite Monnot, Charles Trenet, Hammerstein, Kern, Porter, Berlin, Bacharach and David, Lerner and Loewe, and Silvestri. Audiences will be transported straight to Paris and the streets of Pigalle that gave the world Edith Piaf, then off to the glittering lights of Manhattan to the Broadway stages that Christine and Marty know so well.
“Nobody is like Christine Andreas, and no show comes close to being this brand of special." - Broadway World, Stephen Mosher on PARIS TO BROADWAY.
Christine Andreas made her Broadway debut in 1976 starring as Eliza Doolittle in the 20th Anniversary production of My Fair Lady (Theater World Award) and went on to star in two more major Broadway revivals, Oklahoma! (Tony Nomination) and On Your Toes (Tony Nomination) garnering herself some lovely nominations, awards, and accolades along with the dubious title of “Queen of the Revivals”! Finally, she originated the role of ‘Alice’ in the wonderful and ill-fated Legs Diamond (with Peter Allen (Broadway), ‘Gretchen’ in The Fields of Ambrosia (London’s West End), and ‘Marguerite St. Just’ in The Scarlet Pimpernel (Broadway). In addition to her love of performing on the theatrical stage, Andreas has teamed up with her husband, two-time Grammy nominee and award- winning theatrical composer Martin Silvestri as musical director and arranger, she wrote over 10 one woman shows which have universally showered her with accolades and awards with the NY Times accusing her of "...electrifying her audiences, transforming them with pure alchemy and delicately killing with the sheer beauty of her voice...”
TWO FOR THE ROAD: What is it about ‘couples’ that so intrigues an audience? But intrigued they are by this show and the sassy and undeniable chemistry between two-time Tony nominee and multiple award-winning singer/ actress Christine Andreas and her two-time Grammy-nominated, and multiple award-winning composer husband, Martin Silvestri. Diving deeply into their creative lives through 40 years of making music on Broadway, in the recording studio, in concert and in cabaret; and for this show...adding all the exotic spots on the planet where their gift of music has taken them. The show unravels as more an intimate and irresistible conversation between the performers and the audience. The setlist is the cream of the crop from Broadway, The American Songbook and Pop Standards; from Monnot to Mancini, Bacharach to Berlin, Sondheim to Silvestri!
